HQ Automotive Making a difference...In Batteries
Everyone knows batteries go bad.  I've heard people
tell me, "It's too bad you can't tell when it's about to
go bad"...But at HQ we can!  Most often this is easily
predictable with tests.  Don't be stranded by a bad
battery, replace it just before it causes problems.  HQ
Automotive can help you do this, saving you from
being stranded or the extra expense of a service call or
tow
.
Battery manufactures have 'trained' consumers to look for two things
first when purchasing a battery.  Most often people look for the higher
the 'better' in CCA (cold cranking amps) and the length of the
warranty.  While these qualities are good to watch out for they are far
from the most important characteristics that would make one battery
better then another.

Instead look for these characteristics first:

  • Does it last as long as it's intended or is it prone to prematurely
    failing?
  • Is it sealed up properly so it won't corroded as easily? (This is
important and difficult to find, a great number of batteries will begin to
    corrode after about 18 months)
  • Is it the proper battery or a universal one size fits most?
  • Does it have a good  Reserve Capacity?  (The higher this is the
longer you get to leave your lights on and still start your car)

Then after the above criteria are met look for:
  • Price
  • Cold Cranking Amps or Cranking Amps (With today's battery technology
and modern vehicles it would be rare to find a battery with inadequate
    CCAs).
HQ Automotive sells batteries you can be confident will meet ALL the criteria
needed to get a good battery.  We also sell them for less then you can
purchase it elsewhere.
If you are reading about batteries on here it may be too late and
your battery just died.  Purchasing a good battery can be
difficult.  Most aftermarket batteries just don't measure up.  Even
some name brands that have had very good reputations in the
past simply don't provide the kind of quality you would expect.
They cause corrosion destroying other vehicle components or
simply don't last as long as their warranty would imply.
