| HQ Automotive...Making a Difference |
The other day I was wondering how I can explain to you in a meaningful way the difference
between taking your vehicle to HQ Automotive and someplace else. How can you tell if it's
worth it to you? It so happened there were two vehicles in the shop this day I thought would
be a good "test" if my claims are true. These vehicles were both from regular customers. In
fact, HQ Automotive is the only place any work has ever been done to them except for any
repairs that were made while under the manufacturers warranty (In most cases HQ Automotive
can make your extended warranty repairs). It occurred to me these vehicles would be a good
test because not only is HQ Automotive the only place they have had any repairs, but also the
customers have followed my advice as to what to maintain and when (tires, batteries, brakes,
filters, etc, you name it). One of the vehicles was only a few years old and had just under
50,000 miles. The other vehicle was several years old and had about 130,000 miles. When I
added up all the maintenance and repair costs, (everything they had spent money on to
operate their vehicle except the taxes, insurance, and gas) I found the vehicle with 50,000 miles
had cost 1.7 cents per mile ($.017/mile). The older vehicle with 130,000 miles was almost the
same at just under 2 cents per mile. ($.02/mile).
Now you have an idea how much real people have spent on maintenance and repairs at
HQ Automotive.
So now the question remains, what's normal? How much do other people spend? I went to the
Internet and this is what I found.
"AAA estimates the maintenance costs of sedans at about five cents per mile"
